Gel-XTND tips are soft gel pre-shaped extensions made from the same material as Opallac gel polishes. They are applied with our 5-in-1 Rubber Base as the gel adhesive, then cured under an LED lamp. The result is a flexible, lightweight extension that moves with your natural nail. Press-on nails, by contrast, are rigid plastic glued on top of the natural nail. They tend to pop off in days, can damage the nail bed when removed, and do not move with your nail.

Gel-XTND application involves two cures. First, each tip is flash-cured individually for 5 to 10 seconds as you press it on, which bonds it to the natural nail. Then a full 90 second cure under an LED gel lamp sets all the tips at once. The dedicated Flash Cure Lamp is highly recommended for the bonding step because its focused, high-intensity beam gives the cleanest result. The 48W Cordless SalonPRO LED Lamp included in the Salon Lamp ProStudio Kit can technically handle both cures, though flash curing one nail at a time under it is more cramped than using the dedicated Flash Cure Lamp.

With proper application, Gel-XTND tips last 3+ weeks. To refresh, fill the regrowth area at the cuticle with Opallac Builder Gel, then re-cure and refinish. There is no need to remove and reapply the tips.

Gel-XTND comes in four shapes (Almond, Coffin, Square, Oval) and three lengths (Short, Medium, Long). Square and Coffin tend to suit wider nail beds, while Almond and Oval work well for narrower ones. For length, Short or Medium is a comfortable starting point if you are new to extensions.

Because Gel-XTND tips are made from the same soft gel as our polishes, they soak off cleanly in acetone. Wrap each finger in foil with acetone-soaked cotton, wait until the tip softens, then gently slide it off with a wooden cuticle pusher. Never pry, snap, or peel. If a tip resists, soak longer.
